ISLE OF WIGHT EXTENSION & SUSTAINABLE RETROFIT

A radical retrofit, interior plan and single storey extension formed the proposal for this cliff top bungalow on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) on the Isle of Wight.

Working to protect the future sustainable performance of the dwelling was intrinsic to the client’s brief. An Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) together with upgrades to the buildings insulation and airtightness were proposed whilst a neatly designed timber-clad and timber frame pitched roof extension formed the basis of an approved planning application for this sensitive site.
